Presentation Guidelines

You may wish to prepare PowerPoint slides to support your presentation. Please bring your slides either as a PowerPoint file or a PDF to the conference. Ensure your presentation is loaded onto the provided computer prior to your session to ensure a smooth transition between speakers. We recommend also bringing a backup of your presentation on a USB drive or other portable storage device, as personal laptops typically cannot be connected to the conference’s projection system.

If you require special technology or equipment for your presentation, please contact Isaac at isaac@globalfrontiersICEAHIM.org as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Guidelines for Academic Presentations

The allocated time for each presentation is 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for discussion. As you prepare your slides, consider the following structure:

        1. Title Slide – Include your name, title, and a brief overview of the paper.
        2. Hypothesis Slide – Present the key hypothesis or research question you are investigating.
        3. Research Plan Slides – Use 2-3 slides to summarize your current research plan.

As a rule, your presentation should not exceed 10 slides. This allows roughly two minutes per slide, ensuring your content is concise and engaging. Avoid overcrowding slides with text – your slides should support your presentation, not detract from it. Keep the audience focused on your spoken content rather than reading long blocks of text.

Guidelines for PhD Presentations

PhD presentations will be organized in sessions of 4 to 5 papers. Each presenter will have 10 minutes to present their work. There will be no questions between individual presentations. Instead, after all presentations are complete, there will be a 15–20-minute discussion period during which the session chairs/discussants and attendees will provide feedback.

The session chairs will have read your paper beforehand, but the other attendees will not. Therefore, your presentation should be concise, using no more than 5 slides to cover the following:

        1. Title Slide – Include your name, title, and a brief overview of the paper.
        2. Research Question/Hypothesis Slide – Present the research question and any hypotheses being investigated.
        3. Research Plan Slides – Use 2-3 slides to outline your research plan.
        4. Conclusion Slide – Summarize your key points and outline your next steps.
